The future management should address the multiplicity of uses of medicinal plants, rugged physiography of study area, harvesting calendar and storage facility, entrenched transparency and monitoring mechanisms and changing cultural and weather patterns Tangible impacts on natural capital and social infrastructure building were observed however, the progress over financial and physical assets was yet to take a pace. Sustainable forest and livelihood were led by sustainable harvesting of medicinal and aromatic plants, value addition of forest products and enterprise and entrepreneurship development. We found that incentives on management of medicinal and aromatic plants, institutionalization of community based organizations, and direct support to local groups (community forest user groups) were already in place and substantial in promotion of sustainable forests, diversity and richness of medicinal and aromatic plants, and sustainable livelihood. Key informant interviews, consultations, household questionnaire surveys, direct field observations and literature review were used for assessment.
